Previously heading up the sales and marketing at Mint Asset Management, David spent four years at the Retirement Commission working on changes to KiwiSaver as part of the Retirement Income Policy Review, participating in the Government steering group to review the Financial Adviser Act and helping to establish financial capability in schools through the Sorted in Schools programme. David held General Manager roles with ANZ Wealth in distribution and funds management and was a member of its leadership team.

David is a director for LYW Consulting and chairs both Whai Rawa Funds Limited and Stand Tu Maia. He is also a board member of Play It Strange. David writes regularly for Stuff and appears as a guest on Radio New Zealand with Katherine Ryan on the Nine to Noon Show.

Prior to his time abroad, Tom consulted as a structural engineer in the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquakes, and played rugby in the Hawkes Bay.

Since joining Amicus, Tom has leveraged his experience in adopting a culture of continuous improvement, implementation of automation, and the development of processes that have enabled efficiency and more scalable client outcomes.

Ben Brinkerhoff

As Head of Adviser Services for Consilium, Ben works with over 120 independent financial advice firms across New Zealand and Australia, helping to grow and develop their ideal advice practice and articulate their value and investment proposition.

Ben has over 20 years’ experience in financial services including Chief Operations Officer of Index Funds Advisers in the United States and in various economic consulting roles in the US and abroad. Ben was the founding chair and is a long-time member of the Investment Committee. Ben is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a prolific author writing many articles and whitepapers, and recently published his first book, A Little Book of Financial Wisdom — Clarity in the midst of a financial crisis, a collection of articles written in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
