Conference MC

Tim Beveridge

Tim Beveridge is a familiar voice to New Zealand audiences as the host of The Weekend Collective on Newstalk ZB, the country’s largest talk radio station. He has interviewed a broad range of guests on air — including Prime Ministers, business leaders, scientists, academics, celebrities, and everyday New Zealanders.
 
Tim also has over two decades in musical theatre, starring in productions including The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables and Evita. As a concert producer and performer, Tim has created and headlined numerous large-scale events. Away from the microphone and the stage, Tim is a licensed pilot, a former New Zealand volleyball representative, and previously practiced law.

Andrew Inwood

Founder & Principal
CoreData Research

Andrew brings over 30 years of experience in the Australian financial services industry. He started his career leading the marketing team at Rothschild Australia Asset Management, before spending over a decade at AMP Investments, including a secondment to Virgin Direct in the UK to help establish the group's finance and investment arm. Upon returning to Australia, he served as Marketing Director at Wizard Home Loans and later as General Manager of Applications and Hosted Services at Telstra, before founding CoreData.

An expert in client experience, Andrew has authored over 50 research pieces and has spoken in major cities worldwide, including London, New York, and Tokyo. He has also served on charity and sporting club boards, and been a seed investor and director of various start-ups, particularly in the online sector. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney ASIA.

 

Professor Ben Marshall

Independent Academic Consultant

Professor Ben Marshall works with the Consilium Investment Committee as an Independent Academic Consultant, with a particular focus on governance, analytical support and policy review. He serves on the editorial board of a number of journals and has consulted to public and private companies in a range of different areas. He holds the MSA Charitable Trust Chair in Finance at Massey University.

Professor Marshall has undertaken research in areas such as the impact of climate on financial markets, factors that influence stock returns, quantitative approaches to portfolio management, transaction cost and illiquidity measurement, and exchange traded funds. 

His research has been published in leading international journals and he is a regular speaker at international finance conferences. Professor Marshall is currently ranked in the top 1% of authors based on downloads of his working papers.

Ian Perera

Convenor
NZSA Retirement Income Interest Group

Ian has had a long career in financial services including roles as CRO and CFO for major insurance companies. He recently spent a ten-year period applying his actuarial skill set to banking. He is a member of the Actuaries Institute Banking Education Faculty.

He has been Convenor of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries Retirement Income Interest Group since 2022 and agrees with economist William F. Sharpe that decumulation is the "nastiest, hardest problem in finance."

Andrew Bascand

Co-CEO, CIO, Portfolio Manager 
Harbour Asset Management

Andrew is a founder, Co-CEO and CIO of Harbour. He holds responsibility for Harbour Australasian equity growth portfolios and works closely with the investment teams on market strategy. As Co-CEO, Andrew also focuses on the overarching management of the business, helping the Harbour team work towards a core vision of being the most trusted investment manager.

Prior to founding Harbour Asset Management, Andrew spent 10 years with AllianceBernstein New Zealand as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager responsible for portfolio construction of all Australasian equity mandates. In that role Andrew and his team were consistently recognised by the industry for excellence in funds management. Andrew has over 40 years’ investment management experience including roles with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, the Bank of England, AMP and with Merrill Lynch Global Asset Management (UK) as Managing Director of Global Equity Products. With Merrill Lynch, Andrew managed global equity accounts for pension funds in Japan, Sweden, Spain, Chile, England, the US, Germany and South Africa.

Jeremy Graham

Jeremy brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of FNZ, having joined the business in 2007 as a software developer. Most recently, Jeremy was appointed to Head of Technology for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

Between 2014 and 2021, he drove the growth of FNZ’s software engineering capabilities and led a team of over 100 members who successfully delivered multiple platforms across European and Asia Pacific markets. He is passionate about building and leading high-performing teams, delivering transformational outcomes for FNZ clients, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, cutting edge technology solutions and operational efficiency. Subsequently, Jeremy served as Global Head of Talent, championing Talent Acquisition and Development across all FNZ offices worldwide and Managing Director of the NZ business.

Damian Millin

Damian has been with FNZ for over 20 years, holding senior roles across client management, operations and technology services.  In his current role, he works with leading institutions to design and continuously enhance platform capabilities that elevate adviser experience, improve efficiency and drive scalable growth. With a strong focus on innovation and transformation, Damian helps clients strengthen their market position, manage risk, and unlock new opportunities across diverse and complex markets.

Joel Teasdel

Head of Wealth Management Group, Australia & Vice President

Joel Teasdel is Head of Wealth Management Group for Asia ex-Japan and is based in Dimensional’s Singapore office. With over 25 years’ experience as an investment professional in Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Joel is a veteran of the wealth management industry.

Since 1997, Joel has specialised in helping elite private wealth managers to improve their investment process, client value proposition, firm profitability and most importantly, the investment outcomes for end investors.

Joel holds a Bachelor of Business in Marketing, Management and International Business Law from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Diploma of Financial Services in Financial Planning.

Zion Armstrong

CEO, JAMIE KAY GROUP NZ

Zion joined the Jamie Kay team as CEO in 2023. As a values-based leader, Zion is world renowned for his ability to connect and empower teams, foster a diverse and inclusive culture, and grow talent. 

As a former president of adidas North America, Zion oversaw the business in the US and Canada, and was responsible for driving the vision and culture. Zion’s successful history with adidas spanned many years and places including Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea and the US.

Alongside his role at Jamie Kay, Zion is non-executive director of KMD Brands and US company, Cosmo. Zion is an avid sports fan. He competed in the IAAF World Junior Championships and the Commonwealth Games and is a former New Zealand record holder for 400-metre hurdles.

CPD hours

Your attendance at the conference will earn you 10 structured CPD hours. Names will be submitted to Financial Advice NZ to have the certificate sent directly to your email address.

Parking

Te Pae Christchurch does not have an onsite parking facility.

The closest car park to Te Pae is the Wilsons car park on the corner of Armagh and Colombo Street (opposite Victoria Square).

Multiple off-street parking sites are available and operated by either the Christchurch City Council or private operators (e.g. Wilsons). Electric vehicle charging bays are available at the Lichfield Street Carpark, located at 33 Lichfield Street, Christchurch Central.

Non attendance

Attendance to the Consilium Partner Firm Conference is by invitation only. If you are unable to attend either the conference or the dinner, please let your Client Relationship Manager know in advance. You will otherwise be catered for and there may be a charge for non-attendance.
